When they say that the nice weather is finally here, they forget that we had a lovey Winter too. But, the arrival of Spring means longer days, and a wonderful stroll on Rigaud mountain.
We participated in a Scavenger Hunt activity this year, organized by the sugar shacks in the area, since they could not operate in the usual manner due to COVID-19. We participated along with another family whose daughter is friends with Julianne. The procedure was that we drove to various sugar shacks and each would give us a food item to bring home (tourtière, potatoes, syrup, etc.). Delicious!
Varied pictures: Spring walks and hikes, biking and kayaking in our area.
The next two photos were taken only a few minutes apart, believe it or not!
When a bridge near us closed unexpectedly and caused traffic nightmares, we took advantage of free train service to take our bikes on the train to Baie d'Urfé to see Katrine's parents. It was an adventure that we would gladly repeat!
Our second Scavenger Hunt organized by the Chamber of Commerce of our area: this one was about land and sea! We discovered a local winery that also served pizza baked in an outside wood-fired over (not gluten-free). We visited a chocolate shop, a micro brewery and we ate crab rolls (one was a crab salad, not a roll) in a park by the water. We also received a seafood risotto and mussels that were our dinner later that night. Yum!
We enjoyed our first two Scavenger Hunts so much that we participated in one that was for families, and we did it again with Julianne's friend Laurie and her family. We discovered an alpaca farm, we learned about bees, we were given freshly picked strawberries and the gluten eaters in the family ate delicious cookies at a bakery.
